There has been a lot of hype about the benefits and economic potential of the Internet! The approach that APCIS is taking, is a more focused Web site for our clients. By this we mean that we would ensure that any pages or development of sites meet the goals and objectives of your particular organization, business, or individual First Nation. It has been our experience that many Sites that have been developed on the Internet are put on the Internet for "having a presence" vis-a-vis a site that trul y reflects what image or message that they wish to portray. It is our contention that Net surfers tend to go to specific sites to look for specific information. Indeed, it's the information, and not the site itself that draws users. It is true that large audiences can be reached by the WWW, but our marketing philo sophy for the Web is to ensure that we are able to promote the geographical locations where businesses, organizations, etc hosted by ourselves, reach a target audience that maximizes their objectives.

Non-Virtual Server First Nation Service

Our Non-Virtual Server First Nation Service is a non-virtual server configuration which includes many of the features that will make it easy for First Nations and aboriginal non- profit organizations to manage your site, as well as provide you with the features to make your site look professional and well managed. The following features are included in this service:

  • HTML Web Server (Apache server software running on a UNIX operating system)
  • Fast (T1) connection through UUNET, providing superior quality transfer rates.
  • Pre-written CGI scripts for you to execute including:
    • Image maps
    • Forms processor
    • Web page counter
  • Forms support
  • virtual e-mail addresses (e-mail forwarding to your POP e-mail address)
  • Technical support via e-mail
  • One POP e-mail address of yourfirstnation@apcis.com;
  • Web site address of http://www.apcis.com/yourfirstnation
  • Free registration with several search engines.
  • Unlimited hits to your web pages without incurring any extra charges for bandwidth
We will provide this service and design of a standard Web page to any Canadian First Nation free of charge for THREE months to try the Internet. After which the following fees would apply.:
Setup fee: $Nil;
Monthly : $19.95
Server space: 5 megabytes
Additional space: $0.75/megabyte

Create a Standard web page from your existing electronic document:$49.95

If you have an electronic document, such as a word processor file or text file, digitized graphics, etc., we can turn it into a Web page for you. (Graphic files must be saved as a JPG, BMP, or a GIF.) We will add hyper-links and reformat it to maximize it's impact on the Internet.

We can also take your brochures, pamphlets, catalogues, and other materials and convert them to linked web pages for a reasonable rate.

Compose and create a new Home Web Page:

Even if you do not have any materials suitable for adaptations to the Internet, we can create them for you. We'll work with you to come up with ideas, write the copy and create your own unique site. The rate will be the standard rates above plus $ 20.00 p er additional page thereafter. The additional page design(s) is a one time charge only. The charge, if any, for additional graphics can be discussed.

Forms

Forms can also be created for surveys, registration, reservations, job applications, etc. and are in addition to charges above. Price will depend on complexity and the average cost is $50.00.

Webboard/Realtime CHAT

Webboard/CHAT is a tool for fostering communication, globally or locally, among people with common interests. It is extremely flexible and convient to use. Because it is browser-based, you can use it anywhere, anytime. All your users need is access to a browser.

This service can bring your business to the world of online conferencing! Webboard/CHAT users can participate in a variety of conferences using their web browsers to read and post messages and join chat sessions. They can share ideas, information, questions and suggestions. You can also use it to disseminate information to users. Our Webboard/CHAT elegant user interface, effortless navigation, organized topics and linked menus make it a breeze to use. You and your users can also include HTML elements in messages, including links to other locations or graphic images.
